Open Editorial Studio Shoot/Workshop with Former Ford Model Abril Rios

In collaboration with (and largely, thanks to the the awesome network of) Aimee Anne Photography and the Photographer and Model Collaboration Group she put together on Facebook, we have decided to put on a real editorial photo shoot with a model steeped in experience at one of the top modeling agencies on Planet Earth -- Ford Models out of New York City, where Abril Rios worked from the age of 7 to 15 before moving on to New York Models. Working with a model this experienced and seasoned will be a revelation unto itself.

사진작가 Aimee Anne과 그녀의 페이스북 그룹 ‘Photographer and Model Collaboration Group’과 콜라보하여 패션 화보 스튜디오 촬영 워크샵을 진행합니다. 세계 탑 모델 에이전시 중 하나인 뉴욕 포드 모델 에이전시에서 7~15세까지 활동한 경험 많은 모델 Abril Rios와 함께 진행될 예정입니다.  

The planned date is Saturday, October 28th. The location for the studio is being worked out and will be updated here as soon as it is decided. The desired number of workshop participants is 10-12 people, with a fee of 80,000 won for the all-day long workshop, from morning 'til night, with all hired models and makeup artists.

Workshop Goals: 

• updating Abril's comp card to reflect her post-Korea move, new hair color, and new looks and attitude as an 18+ model / Abril의 한국 생활을 반영한 새로운 헤어, 의상과 태도로 성인모델(18세이상) 로서의 Abril의 새 컴카드 촬영.
• shooting an actual concept piece (likely a Jejudo "haenyeo" concept) for a government grant project / 정부 프로젝트 지원을 위한 컨셉 촬영(예: 제주도의 ‘해녀’ 컨셉)
• making the shoot a transparent, educational workshop in which participants can not only learn indoor and outdoor studio photography basics, but also get a sense of what a huge difference a professional model makes to a pro-level studio shoot's workflow / 참가자들은 실내 스튜디와 촬영 뿐만아니라 야외 촬영을 위한 기본적인 촬영 방법을 알기 쉽게 배울 수 있습니다. 또한, 프로 모델과의 촬영을 통해 프로 모델의 일하는 모습과 스튜디오 촬영의 분위기를 느낄 수 있습니다.

• 워크샵 예정일: 10월 28일 토요일

• 워크샵 장소:   COFFEEGRAPHY Studio Cafe (용산구 이태원동 63-1)

• 워크샵 인원: 10~12명

• 워크샵 참가비: ~150,000원 (워크샵은 아침부터 밤까지 모델과 메이크업 아티스트와 함께 진행될 예정입니다)

So, three birds, one workshop. But Abril isn't all. We are planning to invite another, slightly more junior model in to help everyone practice and warm up. Her concept will be more fun but not necessarily one that will be used outside of portfolio work for the junior makeup artist who will do the first look of the junior model.

이 워크샵으로 세 마리 토끼를 잡을 수 있습니다. 프로 모델인 Abril 뿐만 아니라 초빙된 주니어 모델들과 함께 촬영 연습을 하실 수 있습니다. 촬영분은 주니어 모델 포트폴리오 용으로 개인적인 목적으로만 사용될 예정입니다. 

And then there's Cha Hyeon. She's actually going to follow right behind Jisu and get the workshop headed more directly in the high fashion direction. After Cha Hyeon's transitional shoot, we'll begin the main shoot with Abril. 

지수의 다음 차례는 모델 차현입니다. 차현 모델과는 하이 패션(high fashion) 촬영을 진행할 예정입니다. 차현의 촬영이 끝나면 메인 모델인 Abril의 촬영이 이어집니다.

Introducing Cha Hyeon. She will do our high fashion concept shoot in our workshop on October 9. We met her in a coffee shop and decided to do some headshots on the spot. Moved a few chairs, brought in a studio unit, and made use of the white wall behind our table. And Cha Hyeon was totally ready for impromptu high fashion-style editorial. @chahyeonpark has a really strong style and a stark, angular feel in her posing. We did a quick test in a coffee shop and this is what we got back. Imagine the workshop she will help kick off, with two other talented models!!! The breakdown of the workshop will be as follows, while subject to a bit of change / 워크샵 진행은 아래와 같습니다. (진행 사항은 변경될 수 있습니다):

• 11 AM call time for models, MUAs and participants. / 모델, 메이크업 아티스트, 참가자 도착.
• 11-12 makeup time, equipment/studio orientation. startup primer session with Dr. Michael Hurt, founder of Seoul Street Studios, on the exposure triad of aperture, shutter, and ISO, along with the three functions of aperture. / 메이크업 시간. 장비/스튜디오 오리엔테이션. 마이클 허트 박사와 함께 하는 스타트업 입문 세션이 진행됩니다. 마이클 허트 박사는 Seoul Street Studios의 설립자로서 노출 3요소인  조리개, 셔터, ISO(감도)에 대한 강의와 더불어 조리개의 3가지 기능도 함께 강의합니다.
• 12-1 PM first shoot with junior model and junior makeup artist's 1st look. Abril's call time for makeup with pro makeup artist / 주니어 모델과 주니어 메이크업 아티스트와의 첫 번째 촬영.
• 1-2 PM 2nd shoot and working lunch 두번 째 촬영 후 점심
• 2-5 PM Abril Rios (likely 3-4 looks) 
• 5-6 PM move to outdoor shoot location (likely in Itaewon) for dinner and outdoor shoot. / 저녁 식사와 야외 촬영을 위해 장소(이태원) 이동
• 6-8 PM outdoor shoot location with haenyeo makeup in place and 1-2 looks outside / 해녀 컨셉으로 여러 장소에서 야외 촬영
• 8 PM END / 워크샵 종료

Smack in the middle of the trendy Quy Non district of Itaewon.
요즘 인기 있는 이탸원 퀴논 길에서 진행합니다. 

In the end, 1-2 MUAs, 2-3 models, and 1 stylist will participate in this workshop, and produce content for web publication, grant proposals, and individual portfolio use, while providing invaluable photographic/procedural education for the workshop participants. 

워크샵에는 1-2명의 메이크업 아티스트와 2-3명의 모델, 1명의 스타일리스트가 참석하며 웹 출판, 보조금 제안 및 개별 포트폴리오 사용을 위한 컨텐츠를 제작하는 한편, 워크샵 참석자를 위한 귀중한 사진 / 절차 교육을 제공합니다.

Encouraged (but not required) prerequisites / 권장 사항(필수 사항 아님)::

• a working knowledge of the exposure triangle: aperture, shutter, and ISO. / 노출 3요소: 조리개, 셔터, ISO(감도)에 대한 기본적인 이해
• a DSLR / DSLR 카메라

This workshop will be conducted in English.
